Today, as we celebrate Valentine's Day, let's also embrace a special milestone in our community's history. Did you know that Mesa County was founded 141 years ago on Feb. 14, 1883? This coincidence makes today a day of love in the traditional sense and a day to express our affection and gratitude for our community.

Mesa County Public Health has been made aware of a recall from Taylor Fresh Foods involving a salad kit.

Bobbie Daniel, Chair to the Board of Mesa County Commissioners, spent the last three days representing our community at the NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. This conference brought together nearly 2,000 county officials to discuss federal policies that directly impact counties and our residents.

Presidential Primary Election ballots were mailed to all active Mesa County registered voters on Monday, Feb. 12. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. An Election Day postmark does not count.

Mesa County Commissioners provided an update on the immigration challenges Denver, Colo., faces and discussed their proposed plan to consider adopting a resolution to clarify that Mesa County is not a sanctuary county and consider a letter to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston at their next administrative public hearing on Feb. 20.

Property tax bills are currently available on Mesa County's website, and you can expect your property tax statement in the mail as soon as Feb. 20, 2024.
