Hire an Off-Duty Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputy

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is now offering the ability to hire off-duty deputies to work extra-duty assignments. Hiring requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis and cannot be guaranteed. Interested parties are encouraged to make requests for scheduled events as early as possible.

Requests to hire off-duty deputies are received and processed through the Off Duty Management web-based service, OfficerTRAK®, or by calling 1-877-636-8300 (toll free).

Off Duty Management provides the hiring party with the following:

• Online access to information through the OfficerTRAK® software including:
  • Job-status
  • Deputy attendance
  • Media files
  • Post orders and instructions
  • Past and future shift information
• Full liability coverage for the vendor, the agency, and the deputy
• 24/7 vendor service through a dedicated agency phone number
• Dedicated points of contact for scheduling and invoicing, and payroll.

All hiring requests are reviewed and subject to approval of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Extra-Duty Coordinator.

Please note, a supervisor is required when four or more deputies are present on any given assignment. Total number of personnel assigned and minimum number of personnel to be assigned to a given event is subject to the approval of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Extra-Duty Coordinator.

Cancellation Policy

A customer cancelling or reducing an assignment within 49 hours of the start of the assignment shall pay the greater of officer hours worked or the agency minimum hours plus Off Duty Management (ODM) administrative fees for the first 24 hours of the original assignment.
